A terrorist was killed in an encounter with the security forces at Usgam Pathri in the Rajpura area of Pulwama.
Three cops, ASI Ghulam Hassan and Constables Shafeeq Ali and Rameez Baba, died of injuries sustained in the attack, while 11 others were undergoing treatment.
The bus came under fire from terrorists in Zewan in the Pantha Chowk area in the evening. The injured were evacuated to various hospitals where three of them have died.
The outfit claimed that the attack was a tribute to "all the martyrs of the Kashmir resistance".
This is a major terrorist attack on the security forces in recent days and it has taken place in an area where many camps of the security forces are situated.
Terrorists on Monday fired upon a police vehicle near Zewan in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar. At least 14 personnel have been injured in the attack.
As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where terrorists were hiding they came under a heavy volume of fire that triggered the encounter.

Besides Drass being the coldest in Ladakh, Leh recorded minus 9.6 degrees and Kargil minus 6.4 degrees as their minimum temperatures.
Incriminating material and arms and ammunition including an AK-rifle and a pistol were recovered from the Kulgam encounter site.
Srinagar recorded a low of 0.7 degrees Celsius Thursday night, the lowest minimum temperature recorded this season.
