Agnibaan, produced by Agnikul Cosmos in Chennai, is a mobile launch system. The rocket is 18 meters long with a diameter of 1.3 meters and a lift-off mass of 14,000 kg.

Gaganyaan mission: ISRO Chairman S Somanath said that the first test vehicle flight will be conducted on October 21. After that we have planned for three more test missions, D2, D3, D4. We will hold thorough tests during the test flight sequence.
The test flight can be watched LIVE from 0730 Hours (IST) on October 21. Students and the general public can witness the launch from Sriharikota, by registering on the portal. Registration commenced on October 17 at 6 pm.
Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) at Sriharikota saw three incidents of suicides in the last two days. All three were separate incidents.
ISRO rocket launch: Former ISRO chiefs K Sivan and AS Kiran Kumar and Bharti Enterprises founder-chairman Sunil Mittal among others witnessed the launch from the Mission Control Centre.
The booster engine is part of the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle MkIII (GSLV Mk III) rocket that would carry Indian astronauts to space.
"The students' work included satellite planning, writing the airborne and ground software and testing it up for satellite launch," he noted, adding, "One can see that it is the high school students who are at the centre of the whole project. The elders were more in a consultative role".
The rocket will carry the RISAT-2B weighing 615 kg which will beef up India's surveillance capabilities from the sky.
The country's only spaceport is located at Sriharikota, about 90 km northeast of Chennai.
