Sridevi passed away on February 24 in a hotel room in Dubai, where she went to attend wedding reception of her nephew Mohit Marwah.
The "Aligarh" director says the film would have revolved around the veteran superstar Sridevi.
Ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra also said that he wants Sridevi's daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor to carry forward their mother's legacy.
Sridevi is survived by her husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Khushi and Janhvi.
Later in the evening, Janhvi was photographed cutting several cakes, surrounded by her family members.
Not only Sonam, but designer Manish Malhotra also shared a picture of him, Sridevi and Janhvi on Instagram.
Jayaprada recalled that they acted together in 15 Telugu and Hindi movies and whenever they had to appear in combination, there used to be competition, be it delivering a dialogue or giving an expression.
