Two more airlines on Wednesday suspended stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra from flying with them "till further notice" for allegedly heckling journalist Arnab Goswami aboard an IndiGo plane with aviation regulator DGCA saying the action by the four carriers is in complete consonance with its regulations.
SpiceJet and GoAir became the third and fourth airlines, respectively, to take action against Kamra. While IndiGo suspended Kamra from flying with it for a period of six months on Tuesday itself, Air India banned him until further notice.
After IndiGo and Air India, SpiceJet has decided to bar stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra from flying with the airlines over alleged heckling of journalist Arnab Goswami onboard an IndiGo plane. IndiGo had suspended Kamra for six months.
"I am going to call Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir and also chairperson of the Khadi Gramodyog Commission, and request them to make both the choices available in flights," he said.
Falling for the fifth consecutive day, SpiceJet shares declined over 3 per cent on Friday. The scrip dropped 3.32 per cent to close at Rs 96 on the BSE. During the day, it tanked 3.62 per cent to Rs 95.70. A total of 4.64 lakh shares were traded on the during the day. In five days, the scrip has fallen by nearly 8 per cent.
The signing of codeshare agreement means that the customers of Emirates can book and connect in Dubai on direct services to Amritsar, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Madurai, Jaipur and Pune routes served by SpiceJet.
In a clarification to the BSE, SpiceJet said, "In this regard, we wish to clarify that the company does not have any plan to come with any qualified institutional placement (QIP) at this time".
Spicejet connects Shirdi with Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru and since November 14 its operations had been suspended when the airport also was shuttered due to low visibility.

Aviation regulator DGCA on Tuesday suspended a SpiceJet pilot for six months for reaching the middle of an "active runway" at Ahmedabad airport when a GoAir flight had already started its departure roll there, sources said. The pilot was flying the flight SEJ2988 from Ahmedabad to Jaipur on July 9.
The aircraft was taken back to the bay and the airline replaced the crew with the same plane departing for its destination at 8.45 am, the source said.
Pilots of SpiceJet flight SG-634 got a scare after they spotted a man on runway 27 of Mumbai Airport on Thursday (August 22). They immediately alerted airport security after which Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel detained the man.
