A 70-year-old woman was raped by a drunk neighbour, late on Sunday night in Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. The accused Ram Kishan (27) has been arrested and sent to jail.
More than one lakh hectare of forest and government land has been illegally sold off to individuals, trusts and societies. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who had earlier blamed the Congress for laying the foundation of the land dispute in 1955 that led to the killing of 10 people last week, has now pointed towards a nexus between the accused and the Samajwadi Party.
It is noteworthy that it was on the basis of the 1955 papers that Yogi Adityanath had squarely blamed the Congress party for the land dispute that led to the massacre.
The Chief Minister, who was in the village where a clash over land claimed 10 lives and leftover two dozen injured on Wednesday, said, "This incident is a big political conspiracy. The foundations were laid in 1955 when the land was transferred to a trust set up by a Congress Rajya Sabha member. In 1989, the Congress government in UP transferred the land to individual members of the trust."
