Brace yourself: The snow’s not done yet. Himachal Pradesh experienced dry and cold weather on Wednesday with a number of places of tourist attraction in the state shivering at sub-zero temperatures. The minimum temperature was one to two notches below normal while the maximum hovered three to four degrees below normal since Tuesday. It has predicted snow and rainfall in many places of middle, high hills of the state and thundershowers in the plains till the next seven days.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), most places in the state are likely to receive rainfall or snowfall on January 1 and 2.

"Two Srinagar-bound flights have been diverted so far due to snowfall. As many as 170 students who were stranded amid heavy snowfall near Kufri in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla were rescued early on Saturday.

The meteorological department on Wednesday issued a heavy snowfall alert in parts of Uttarakhand for Thursday and Friday. Heavy snowfall is likely to occur at isolated places located at a height of 2,500 metres and above in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Thursday.
