The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday removed Amethi District Magistrate Prashant Sharma, a day after a video of him "misbehaving" with the family of Vijay Kumar Singh alias Sonu Singh went viral on the social media. Arun Kumar, the Vice Chairman of Moradabad Development Authority, has been appointed as the new DM of Amethi. Sharma has been waitlisted.
This was the second controversy involving Sharma in past one week. Sharma had arrived late for a court hearing in Amethi and the judge punished hin by keeping him in custody till the evening.
