Yechury today said they were discussing bringing an impeachment motion against the CJI in the coming budget session of Parliament.
"In this situation, there is no other option but to correct this institution (the Supreme Court) in case there is anything wrong. This can be done by an impeachment motion against the Chief Justice," CPI-M leader Yechury said.
Yechury made it clear that his party would not have truck with any “communal and corruption-tainted” party in the next Lok Sabha polls.
Yechury was speaking to the media after he wrote a letter to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley seeking a rollback of the idea of electoral bonds, calling it a "regressive" move that would legalise money laundering.
