A doctor in Kerala's Malappuram district performed a hernia surgery on a seven-year-old boy instead of removing a growth in his nasal passage after an apparent a mix-up of the names of two patients.
The incident took place at the government hospital, where the patient Avinash Bagwade was admitted for liver ailment.
The people in the mall caught hold of the accused and thrashed him, before handing him over to the police.
