The All India Shia Personal Law Board (AISPLB) has issued its Muharram advisory, asking people to follow all norms of social distancing, wear masks and wherever possible, take part in Muharram rituals online or via TV channels broadcasting them.
Waseem Rizvi, the Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Central Shia Waqf Board, has said that the Tablighi Jamaat had planned a 'fidayeen' attack on India by spreading the deadly coronavirus.
The Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board Wednesday said it would ask the government to give it the five-acre plot that the Supreme Court said should be allotted for building a mosque, if the the Shia board rejects the offer.
Rizvi said the Board favoured the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya and the Supreme Court judgment on the decades-old issue is the "best verdict" that could have been possible.
Reports said the ministerial committee has been set up to draft a bill which the government planned to introduce in the winter session of Parliament.
Rizvi said the board which is the ‘mutawalli’ (caretaker) of the Babri Mosque, had suggested giving up its right over the land in Ayodhya.
