Burger will replace Toby Bailey, who has been serving as Scotland's interim coach, and since Grant Bradburn stepped down from the post in September last year.
Bradburn, who played seven Tests and 11 ODIs for New Zealand, has been coaching Scotland since April 2014 and feels that it would be a great opportunity to coach his home nation.
After losing the toss and posting a massive 371-5, Scotland held their nerves on the field and with the ball to clinch a thrilling win with just seven balls remaining.
Scotland have been ranked 13th with 28 points - 10 points behind 12th ranked Ireland - while the UAE are 14th position with 18 points.
