The announcement came a day after Lucknow District Magistrate of Lucknow issued the closure of schools up to class 8 due to cold wave.
Entire north India, including Lucknow, has been reeling under a severe cold wave for the last couple of days which prompted the district authority to issue a notice directing all private and government schools to remain closed on January 17 and 18.
In view of Ayodhya Ram Mandir consecration ceremony, several states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and others have declared holidays in all schools and government offices. Check the state-wise school holiday list.
Due to the Shree Jagannath Parikrama Project's inauguration, the Odisha government has declared a day holiday in the state. According to the orders, all schools, colleges, and offices will remain closed tomorrow, January 17.

Rajasthan weather: Jaipur District Collector Prakash Chandra Rajpurohit issued an order in this regard and said that weather will continuously fluctuate for the next 1 week. Keeping in mind the changing weather conditions, the period of winter vacation is extended.
