The Supreme Court said that it wants all information related to the Electoral Bonds to be disclosed which is in SBI possession.
Earlier, the apex court had directed the State Bank of India (SBI) to disclose the details of the bonds to the EC by the close of business hours on March 12.
The data revealed that the Biju Janta Dal (BJD) encashed electoral bonds worth Rs 944.5 crore while YSR Congress encashed Rs 442.8 crore. The details are believed to be pertaining to the period before April 12, 2019.
The apex court said that the State Bank of India has not disclosed the electoral bonds (unique alphanumeric numbers).
SBI's submission to the EC included vital details such as the date of purchase, names of purchasers, and denominations of the electoral bonds. Moreover, it encompassed information on the date of encashment of the bonds and the recipient political parties.
