On November 29, the CBI had filed a chargesheet in connection with the RG Kar Hospital financial irregularities in which it has named former principal of the medical establishment Sandip Ghosh as the prime accused.
After almost three months of his arrest, the CBI filed a chargesheet with Sandip Ghosh as the prime accused in the alleged financial irregularities case. The court did not accept the chargesheet on the grounds that official approval to file a chargesheet against a state employee was not granted.
Sandip Ghosh, former RG Kar Hospital Principal, was arrested by the CBI on September 14. The CBI is investigating him in two cases - the Kolkata rape and murder case and RG Kar financial irregularities case.
On Monday, the Sealdah Court extended the custody of Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, and Abhijit Mondal, the officer-in-charge of Tala Police Station, for three more days.
Sandip Ghosh has also been booked by the ED in alleged financial irregularities linked money laundering case after taking cognisance of a CBI FIR. The ex-principal came under the scanner following the rape and murder of a 31-year-old postgraduate trainee doctor at the hospital on August 9.
Sandip Ghosh, ex-principal of RG Kar Medical College, has been sent to judicial custody until September 23 by a CBI court. The court's decision follows his involvement in a case regarding financial mismanagement during his time at the institution.

The Calcutta High Court had ordered the transfer of the probe into the alleged financial irregularities at RG Kar Hospital from a state-constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
