Sameer lost 14-21 6-21 to his opponent while Praneeth lost 21-23, 14-21 to his opponent from Hong Kong.
Praneeth beat Indonesia's Panji Ahmad Maulana 21-12 21-14, while Sameer edged past Takuma Ueda of Japan 21-16 21-12 in their respective second round matches.
Praneeth beat Israel's Misha Zilberman in straight games 21-17, 21-14, Sameer had to toil hard to get the better of New Zealand's Abhinav Manota 13-21, 21-17 and 21-12 in the opening round of the BWF World Tour Super 300 event.
Praneeth will next face second seed Jonatan Christie of Indonesia in the semifinals.
