The Bombay High Court on Wednesday granted a transit pre-arrest bail to 'Tandav' director Ali Abbas Zafar, Amazon Prime India head Aparna Purohit, producer Himanshu Mehra and the show's writer Gaurav Solanki, against whom a case was registered in Lucknow for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through the web series.
In an exclusive interview with IndiaTV actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub talked about his character in the web series 'Tandav'. The actor said that he felt very lucky and honoured to work with actors like Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia.
Tandav Row: The first case has been registered against the makers of the web-series that has been grabbing the limelight for its controversial scene. The FIR that has been registered in Ghatkopar Police Station, Mumbai includes names of Ali Abbas Zafar, Saif Ali Khan, Zeeshan Ayyub, Himanshu Mehra, Aparna Purohit, Gaurav Solanki, and Amit Aggarwal, and others.
The Lucknow Police team has reached Mumbai to interrogate the makers of Tandav. After the questioning, the police will decide what action needs to be taken against the accused.
Soon after the release, Ali Abbas Zafar directorial Tandav faced a backlash from a certain section of society for provoking communal disharmony over a scene from the first episode. Not only this, more than three FIRs have been registered against the makers as well as the star cast for hurting Hindu sentiments in over 6 cities.
