Sudan has been witnessing deadly fighting between the country's army and a paramilitary group for the last 12 days that has reportedly left around 400 people dead.
The Modi government has started Operation Kaveri for the safe return of Indians stranded in Sudan. Airspace is closed in Sudan, so an operation is being carried out through the sea to evacuate Indians.
Sudan has been witnessing deadly fighting between the country's army and a paramilitary group for the last 11 days that has reportedly left around 400 people dead.
It would be the highest-level visit to India by any Pakistani leader in recent years and a possible opportunity to break the ice between the two nations.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar embarked on a nine-day trip to Guyana, Panama, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
The major development came hours after politicians in India engaged in a war of words, where senior Congress leader and former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah sought help from the Centre for the safety of the people of Karnataka who have been stuck in Sudan.
Sudan violence: Amid rising concerns over stranded Indians in a violence-hit country, Siddaramaiah and MEA Jaishankar engaged in a spat on Twitter.
Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar asked the senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah not to do politics stating there are lives at stake.
Delhi: Union Minister S Jaishankar on Monday claimed that the India-Russia relationship is among the "steadiest" of major global relations. This event was attended by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov also.
"Dear Indian Nationals in Sudan, Based on the latest inputs the fighting has not Subsided on day two. We sincerely request all fellow Indians to continue to stay where they are and not venture outside," read the second advisory released on Monday morning.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Mozambican Transport minister discussed India's partnership in helping expand the train networks electric mobility and waterways connectivity.
This will be the first-ever visit by an External Affairs Minister of India to the Republic of Mozambique.
Notably, this will be the first official visit from the East European country since the Russian invasion began last year.
The two foreign ministers also deliberated on the Ukraine conflict and the overall situation in the Indo-Pacific, a region that has witnessed growing Chinese military assertiveness.
United Nations: India secured an overwhelming 46 out of 53 votes in a secret ballot in a highly competitive election for membership to the Statistical Commission.
The official names of the 11 places were released on Sunday by the ministry, which also gave precise coordinates, including two land areas, two residential areas, five mountain peaks and two rivers.
Although Wangchuck came here on an invitation from President Droupadi Murmu, it is expected he would be quizzed by Indian officials about the controversial comments related to the international border issues.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, while speaking at an event in Hubballi, Karnataka, said that India, now will no longer bear the insult of the tricolor.
"The days when India would have taken this lightly are behind us and this is not the India which will accept its national flag being pulled down by somebody," Jaishankar said.
