In a significant move, the Supreme Court of India, led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, took action in the Kolkata rape and murder case involving a postgraduate trainee doctor from R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, "The people who vandalised RG Kar Hospital yesterday and created this ruckus are not connected to the student movement of RG Kar Medical College, they are outsiders."
