Such seats will be allotted by rotation to different constituencies in a municipality every 10 years, as per the amendment to Assam Municipal Act, 1956.
"I initiate the discussion on this historic motion for providing 33-per-cent reservation for women in legislative assemblies and the Parliament," the chief minister said while moving the resolution.
