The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has transferred the investigation of the Reasi terror attack case in Jammu and Kashmir to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The decision comes in the wake of a deadly terrorist assault on June 9th evening, targeting a bus carrying pilgrims.
Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has approved an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each for the next of kin of those killed in the terror attack on a bus in Reasi district, an official spokesman said.
Nine people were killed and 41 injured as the terrorists opened fire at the 53-seater bus, on its way from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra.
The bus carrying pilgrims was on its way to the Shiv Khori temple when it came under attack in Teryath village in Poni area of Reasi district.
LeT commander Talib Hussain and Faizal Ahmad Dar, a categorised terrorist of south Kashmir's Pulwama district, were captured in Tuksan village, said police.
J&K govt constituted a high-level committee to ascertain reasons behind stampede incident at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. The Committee is headed by Principal Secy (Home), Govt of Jammu and Kashmir.
A public notice was issued urging the public to furnish any facts, statements, electronic evidence, etc. about the incident with the probe panel.
