Stone-pelting had taken place during Ram Navami procession in Khargone city on Apr 10, leading to clashes and arson. The district administration also imposed curfew partially for 24 days.
The violence has also created a political stir in the state. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath has accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party of trying to divide society.
Communal clashes had broken out in Khargone city on April 10 during a Ram Navami procession, leading to arson and stone-pelting, leading to the clamping of curfew.
Taking a political jibe at the opposition leaders, Anurag Thakur said that the opposition was busy in baseless accusations.
The joint appeal came amid the ongoing controversy regarding incidents of violence on Ram Navami (April 10). Violence was reported from some areas in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, etc.
Khargone local Mahesh Patil's son's marriage was fixed six months back but his wedding was called off by his in-laws arguing that such incidents often happen in the district.
Khurshid was referring to the demolition of houses of some people involved in the attack on a Ram Navami procession a day after communal clashes erupted in MP's Khargone.
Notably, on the instructions of CM, the district administration of Khargone and police demolished illegal buildings of miscreants involved in the attack on a Ram Navami procession.
While the curfew is in force in Khargone since Sunday evening, some anti-social elements set ablaze three buses, a car and a garage in the city's Mechanic Nagar area on Monday night, Additional Superintendent of Police Neeraj Chourasia said.
Earlier on Sunday, Himmatnagar town witnessed violence, stone-pelting and clashes between two communities after stones were hurled on a Ram Navami procession.
The district collector also said that strict action will be taken against those sharing objectionable messages and videos of the Khargone incident on social media.
The team, which was formed by BJP chief Amit Shah, will submit a report to him on their return.
During the violence, heavy stone-pelting was witnessed from two sides close to a mosque and three motorcycles were also set afire.
The violence had spread to many parts of the state including Purulia, Murshidabad, Bardhman West and Raniganj that led to the killing of three persons.
Banerjee thanked BSP president for charging the Centre with adopting double standard in dealing with NDA-ruled Bihar and TMC-governed West Bengal.
Internet services were suspended to check the spread of rumours and the prohibitory orders were clamped to maintain peace, Asansol sub-divisional officer Proloy Roychowdhury said.
