Ceasefire violation by Pakistan was reported Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch. The firing was reported from KG sector of Nangi Tekri area in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army befittingly retaliated the ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops.
A rescue operation was launched by the locals immediately after the incident, following which they were joined by the police parties and a team of doctors and paramedics.
An Army soldier was killed when Pakistan violated the ceasefire by heavily shelling forward areas and posts along the Line of Control with mortar bombs in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district Thursday, officials said.
According to officials, Pakistani troops fired a few shots targeting Indian posts in Kalal area of Nowshera sector in the early hours on Friday

According to the officials, the motive behind the step was not known immediately.
Cordon and search operations were launched in Pulwama after retaliatory firing by the RR troops.
He also visited the Nagrota military station, where he was updated by the White Knight Corps Commander on the prevailing security situation and the arrangements made for Amarnath Yatra in view of the recent threats by the terrorist groups, he said.
The Pakistani troops also resorted to shelling of mortars along the LoC in the Tarkundi Gali, Lambi Bari, Khorinar, Dhar and Panjgrian areas of the Manjakote sector in Rajouri.
The Indian Army retaliated effectively, he said. On February 11, Pak troops resorted to heavy mortar shelling in forward areas and villages in Rajouri and Poonch.
Parveen Akhter was killed when she was hit by a bullet fired by Pakistani troops along the LoC in Pkukherni and Lairan villages of Noushera around 10:35 PM, he said. The official said Akhter was hit inside her home at Lairan village.
Pakistani forces opened unprovoked and heavy firing and shelling along LoC in Bhimbher Gali sector of Rajouri district this evening.
