Earlier, his two colleagues Raj Babbar and CP Joshi had also courted controversy by passing remarks on the prime minister's nonagenarian mother and his caste.

Of the 33 seats, 29 are sitting BJP MLAs and four are Congress MLAs that included former chief minister Ashok Gehlot.
Chitra Singh said she has been going door to door and meeting women, appealing them to channelise their anger against the BJP government by voting for the son of ailing BJP leader Jaswant Singh.
There will be three-way contests also for seats where other independents and parties like the Bahujan Samaj Party are challenging the two major parties.
"We have done so much development works in the state in the past five years that successive Congress governments failed to do in 50 years of their rule", she claimed.
While both the BJP and the Congress have fielded more doctors for this election than the last polls in 2013, leaders say there were several more who were hopeful to secure tickets but lagged behind in the race.
According to the chief electoral officer, 579 candidates have withdrawn their nominations and the figure is likely to be updated further.

The prime minister is likely to hold rallies in Alwar, Bhilwara, Beneshwar Dham on November 25, he said. Modi is also expected to hold a public meeting in Kota on November 26.
The saffron party had won a majority in the last elections in 2013.
