Voting for 59 Assembly constituencies spread across 16 districts of UP is underway on Sunday. Polling started at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. This is the 3rd phase of Assembly polls in the state, where elections are to be held in 7 rounds. Meanwhile, polling for 117 constituencies for Punjab Assembly elections began at 8 am today amid tight security.
With Priyanka Gandhi Vadra by his side during an election roadshow in Rupnagar on Tuesday, Channi had said, "Priyanka Gandhi is the daughter-in-law of Punjab. Will not let the 'Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi de bhaiye', who have come here to rule, enter the state."
As per the schedule of the Election Commission, the polling exercise, which began on February 10 from Uttar Pradesh, will conclude on March 7 in all five states. The results will be announced simultaneously on March 10.
Polling for 117 constituencies in Punjab, and on 59 seats for the third phase in Uttar Pradesh concluded on Sunday. The fate of 1304 candidates in Punjab and 627 in UP have been sealed.
The FIR against the Akali Dal leader comes hours after a crossfire, where the EC had registered a complaint against AAP's Kejriwal as well.
The move came in the wake of Vishwas' allegations against AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He accused the AAP supremo of supporting separatists in Punjab.

On the complaint of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), a case has been filed under section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for violating the model code of conduct against Channi and Sidhu.
The development comes at a time when the voting for Punjab's 117-member assembly is set to take place in a single phase on February 20.
