Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the Cabinet has given its nod to reduce the road tax by 50 per cent on purchase of any type of new vehicle till December 31, 2019.
"They (police) have started taking action. Someone has been located, I cannot reveal where now. We are trying to nab him immediately," Sawant told reporters here.
Sawant urged farmers and dairy owners to focus on the generation of vermicompost, which he said, would replace chemical fertilisers, to be used as manure for agricultural and horticultural crops.
Interestingly, the resignation comes a month before the state is scheduled to host 'Vibrant Goa-2019' a global expo and summit in Goa.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Sawant said: "In view of heavy rains, the Education Department has been asked to declare a holiday for students on Wednesday. The heavy rains are expected to continue for the next three days."
The investigation into the drug peddling in the state was based on the information provided by those arrested so far, Sawant said in the state Assembly. He was responding to a question tabled in the House by Leader of the Opposition Digambar Kamat, who said that an increasing number of Goans were being arrested for drug peddling in the coastal state.

According to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, the Goa government was exploring options to ban non-Goans from starting co-operative societies in Goa, especially those which promise to double money in quick time. He has also directed the state Registrar of Co-operatives not to permit non-Goans from setting up co-operatives in the coastal state.

For Sawant, who was appointed CM in March this year, days after the Model Code of Conduct came into force, his real administrative innings as Chief Minister begins now, but not before the party conducts a post mortem of the causes behind the two electoral debacles.
