Goa Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant on September 22 distributed COVID-19 relief to marginalised and unorganised sectors and ex-gratia financial assistance to the family of the victims of coronavirus. He said, "We've started distributing Rs 2 lakh each to families with low income and who lost a family member due to COVID-19. We are also giving Rs 5,000/person who suffered a loss in their traditional business due to COVID. This will benefit nearly 50,000 people."
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on September 09 said that the government has aimed to complete the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination by October 31. "Ganesh Chaturthi has to be celebrated following COVID-19 protocols. We have completed 100% first dose vaccination in the state. We aim to complete the second dose vaccination by 31st October," said the Goa CM.
Congress on Wednesday slammed BJP-led coalition govt for the confusion ahead of state's most important Hindu festival, especially at a time when Covid cases have witnessed an increase in neighbouring state of Maharashtra.
