The Delhi govt has decided to add 80,000 more beneficiaries to the old-age pension scheme. The portal which was opened for registration on Sunday has received 10,000 applications so far. The govt has also announced its plan to provide Rs 5,000 to differently-abled individuals.
The eligible people can apply for the pension by filling up a form on the e-district portal of Delhi govt and even as the application system will go live on Nov 24, it will remain functional until 80,000 applications are received.
By implementing these changes, DoPPW seeks to make the system more accessible, helping senior pensioners navigate their benefits with greater ease and efficiency.
The new guidelines, issued by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions are aimed at making the complaint filing process more sensitive, accessible and effective.
Under the NPS Vatsalya scheme, parents can open a pension account for their children and make a minimum annual contribution of Rs 10,000 per annum. After the child is 18 years of age, the account automatically gets converted into a normal NPS account, which the holder can continue.
