Days after the Public Safety Act was slapped on former Chief Ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, a senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Naeem Akhtar was booked under the PSA, sources said.
A former PDP MLA and a trade union leader were released from detention in Srinagar on Tuesday.

Suspected militants on Monday shot and injured a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) activist in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. Police said militants shot at Lateef Ahmad Shah in the orchard area of Matrigam village in Pulwama district in the evening.

Speculation have been rife since Tuesday night that the three parties were planning to join forces to restrict BJP's chances of returning to power.
Reports of any injuries or casualties in the incident in Shopian were yet not available.
In a statement, the home minister said the central government will provide all support, including central forces, for smooth conduct of panchayat and urban local body polls.
The PDP had announced the boycott of polls on Monday. This came after the municipal and panchayat polls were boycotted by the National Conference.
