The controversial flick was released in India on January 25, however a few states refused to screen the movie under pressure from fringe outfit Karni Sena.
Karni Sena chief said the ongoing protest would be intensified and continued till Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmaavat" is banned.
One thing is clear from the first day of screening: wherever the state government and police remained extra alert, vandals and hooligans failed to indulge in unruly acts.
More than a dozen children of the GD Goenka World School were traveling in the bus with teachers and staff when stones were pelted on their vehicle by a frenzied mob on Wednesday.
The petitioner said that the Centre, Haryana and Punjab governments and the Chandigarh administration have been made party in this case.
"People involved in yesterday's incident should be given strong punishments, harsher than the punishment Lord Rama had given to Ravana," Kejriwal said.
"Vandalism to stop release of 'Padmaavat' is despicable, reprehensible and utterly nauseating," tweeted Congress leader Manish Tewari.
"Rajputs can never even think of attacking a school bus. This is a plot being created by politicians, who wish to weaken our peaceful protest," Karni Sena spokesperson said.
The two petitions referred to the various apex court orders allowing exhibition of movie in theatres across India saying law and order is the duty of the state governments.
As a precautionary measure, security has been tightened in different parts of the country. The Karni Sena has given a call for 'Bharat Bandh' today.
It is the duty of each state government, to abide by the Supreme Court order, and provide full security to such cinema halls.
The MNS said the protesters should respect the decision of the Supreme Court which has cleared the decks for the release of the 13th Century period drama, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The protesters were seen burning tyres and indulging in vandalism, further blocking the roads causing traffic jam in various parts.
