A BJP MP from Jharkhand on Thursday requested the government to bring the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Jharkhand, West Bengal and a particular area of Bihar. Speaking during the Zero Hour, Nishikant Dubey (BJP) said the people of the area from where he hailed were troubled by Bangladeshi intruders.

The Union Cabinet on Tuesday cleared the National Population Register. The National Population Register is set to commence from April next year. The National Population Register (NPR) is a Register of usual residents of the country. It is mandatory for every usual resident of India to register in the NPR.
In an attempt to assuage the feelings of students, the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor Tariq Mansoor has appointed chemistry Ph.D student, Mohd Tariq as an Assistant Professor on ad hoc basis. Tariq was one of the students who had suffered severe injuries during clashes with police during anti-Citizenship Amendment Act on campus on December 15. His right hand fingers have been severely damaged.
“Discussions about the NRC are going on and suggestions have been sought but confusion is being created. The NRC will also be implemented but after detailed discussions,” he said.
"A seven-member team of NHRC headed by SSP (Investigation) Manzil Saini visited JMI today. They inspected JMI Library and enquired about the whole incident that took place on December 15 2019," said varsity's PRO-Media Coordinator Ahmad Azeem.
"If Mamata Banerjee wants to keep Bangladeshis and do politics then she should become the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, if she has the courage. We will never tolerate if foreigners come to India, stay here as refugees and influence Indian politics," Surendra Singh said.
The dates regarding distribution of exclusion certificates will be announced soon, NRC State Coordinator's office tweeted.
"I am not happy with the way the NRC has been published with names of genuine Indian citizens left out and foreigners included", the three-time former chief minister told reporters here.

It was six years ago that a mammoth exercise was started to update the National Register of Citizens (NRC) of 1951 by identifying illegal foreigners living in Assam and since then lakhs of people have been living an anxiety.
Apart from Assam, West Bengal, Tripura and some other parts of the Northeast are reportedly affected by the problem of illegal immigration.
The move came after the Supreme Court recently questioned the state government's plan to set up 1,000 foreigners' tribunals, pointing out it would be difficult to find 1,000 legal officers to preside over them.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday assured the people of Assam that no genuine citizen will be left out of the NRC and hoped that the citizenship bill will be soon get Parliament's nod.
