The BJP and the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) have formulated a pre-poll seat-sharing agreement ahead of the elections to the 60-member House next year.
Newmai claimed the NPF was "forced" to take the decision to withdraw support as the "BJP has not honoured some of the agreements that were agreed upon when the coalition government was formed back in 2017."
"Today, I can officially say that we have no truck with the NPF and there is no question of going back to the NPF in forming the government. We will go with the NDPP," Sarma said.
NPF is facing a severe internal crisis, especially after Zeliang was sworn in as Chief Minister for the second time on July 19.
TR Zeliang was expelled from the NPF for six years, hours after he was sworn in as the Nagaland CM.
