2012 Nirbhaya Case: Lawyer of the convicts, AP Singh on Thursday moved a plea in Delhi's Patiala House Court seeking a stay on the date of the execution of the convicts, which is scheduled for February 1.
The four convicts in the Nirbhaya case are set to be hanged on February 1, at 6 am. One of the convicts, Vinay Sharma has pleaded mercy ahead of the capital punishment and has written a letter to the President. Vinay Sharma and 3 other convicts in the Delhi gangrape and murder case are lodged in the Tihar jail and are taking to legal remedies to delay their execution.
Nirbhaya convicts lawyer AP Singh claimed in the plea that according to the Delhi Prison rules, none of the four convicts in the same crime can be hanged till the last convict has exhausted all his legal options including the mercy petition.
Nirbhaya case: The curative petition, filed by advocate AP Singh on behalf of Akshay, states that the present curative petition should be allowed by the apex court and it should set aside the May 5, 2017 order, which upheld the death sentence of the convicts.

Nirbhaya case convict Vinay Sharma has also written a letter for his friends, in which he has advised his mates to behave well. In a letter addressed to Raju, Kamal, Rohit Singh and Dinesh, Vinay Sharma has said he remembers all his friends and loves them. Vinay has also penned some poems (shayari) in the letter.

The BJP on Sunday accused the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi of stalling the process of justice in the Nibhaya case and trying to save the convicts.
