NEET-UG paper leak case: The CBI has registered an FIR under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 406 (breach of trust) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) in the NEET exam paper leak case.
NEET-UG paper leak row: The NEET-UG results have ignited controversy due to allegations of irregularities, including grace marks, errors, and paper leaks. This uproar has led to a re-test for 1,563 students and the CBI taking over the investigation into these irregularities.
In the NEET examination controversy, 18 people have been arrested by the Bihar Police so far. The case has been handed over to the CBI which has registered a criminal case.
While NEET-UG 2024 is under scanner over several irregularities, including alleged paper leaks, the UGC-NET was cancelled a day after it was conducted as the ministry received input that its integrity had been compromised.
NEET-UG paper leak case: The retest was conducted at seven centres following an order from the Supreme Court. The grace marks were awarded to make up for the loss of time at six centres where the examination started late on May 5.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducted the NEET-UG exams, is facing criticism over alleged irregularities in the exams. This resulted in several protests across the country with protestors and political parties demanding to disband the NTA.
