Media firm NDTV's promoters Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy have moved the Bombay High Court, challenging a show-cause notice issued to them by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in 2018 for alleged violation of insider trading regulations.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday has booked senior journalist Prannoy Roy and others in a new case against NDTV for alleged FDI violation, reports PTI.
NDTV, however, said it is yet to receive the penalty order from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
The SAT also said that "it finds that the whole world knows about the impugned order except the appellants".
The order comes after the regulator examined multiple disclosure lapses by NDTV and noted non-compliance with the Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeover (SAST) Regulations.
