Talking about the flood situation in the state, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that NDRF, SDRF, Army and BSF have rescued around 5,950 people from 240 villages till now and efforts are underway to rescue 1,950 more people.
Speaking over flood situation in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on August 03 said, "Due to heavy rain and floods, around 1,171 villages in Shivpuri, Sheopur, Datia, Gwalior, Bhind and Rewa areas have been affected. 800 mm of downpour received in 2 days. Rescue operations by Air Force will commence once weather gets better."
As the rescue operation in the state continues at a rapid pace, a total of 34 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been deployed in Maharashtra.
Floods ravaged parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Telangana. Over 140 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are engaged in rescue and relief operations. In Kolhapur, the NDRF team also rescued a dog from the rooftop of a hotel in the Shiroli area.
Several houses in Maharashtra's Sangli have submerged as flood-like situation prevails in the district.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has enhanced the number of its teams from 26 to 34 for undertaking rescue operations. The teams are being deployed in affected areas of Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Satara, Sangli, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Pune and Nagpur for rescue and relief work.
