Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting of CMs and Home Ministers from Naxal-affected states in which Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai represented the state and provided an update on the ongoing Naxal operations in the state.
Due to the effective action of the security forces, there is panic in the top leadership of the Naxal organization, due to which the local Naxalite cadres are being harassed in many ways by the Naxal cadres from outside, suspecting them of betrayal and rebellion.
The Naxalites, clad in civil dress, tried to escape upon sensing the presence of the security personnel. They were arrested by the personnel.
The Naxalites surrendered before the security forces after getting inspired by state government policy and Sukma Police's rehabilitation drive.

Out of total nine Naxalites arrested in the joint operations, eight were arrested from different locations under Usoor police station area while one was arrested under Naimed police station limits.
The encounter ensued while the joint teams of District Reserve Guards pf four districts and 45th battalion of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were out on an anti-Naxalite operation.
Prima facie, the police said that the modus operandi of the attack suggested it was executed by a "small action team of Naxalites.
Chhattisgarh: The official said that of the surrendered, woman cadre Vetti Mase (42) was active as a member of platoon no. 24 under the Malangir area committee of Maoists and carried a reward of Rs 2 lakh.
Earlier on May 23, as many as seven Naxalites were killed in an encounter with the security forces. Following the encounter, another Naxalite was killed in retaliatory firing while the security personnel were returning to their base and Naxalites attacked them.
The arrested Naxalites include an extremist with a bounty of Rs 1 lakh over his head. They were nabbed during a joint search operation in the forest near Duled village in Sukma district.
Earlier on May 9, 6 Naxalites carrying a bounty of Rs. 36 lakh over them surrendered to the police in Sukma, Chhattisgarh. The Naxalites surrendered after getting inspired by the 'Puna Narkom' rehabilitation program for Naxals.
The six Naxalites were affiliated to Maoists' People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) battalion Number 1, People's Party Committee Member (PPCM), Kistaram Area Committee and eavh had a varying bounty over their head. They surrendered after getting inspired by police's 'Puna Narkom' drive.
During the encounter, the police successfully seized two weapons along with a substantial quantity of ammunition from the Naxalites. The operation signifies a significant blow to the insurgent group's activities in the region.
The incident occurred around 11 am in the Aamdai Ghati iron ore mine area under Chhote Dongar police station limits when the security personnel were out on an area domination operation, according to a senior police official. The deceased jawan was identified as Kamlesh Sahu.
