Narinder Batra resigned as the President of the International Olympic Association (IOA) in July 2022. He also served as the President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and was a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Batra's resignation came two weeks after the Delhi Court refused to stay an order according to which Batra was restricted from discharging any function as IOA president. Before this, Batra was removed as the IOA chief on May 25, 2022

Batra's father had tested positive for COVID-19 along with two of his attendants and as many security guards posted at his house in May, 2020.
Olympic games can be hosted in three or four cities in India, and the IOA is in talks with the IOC about India's possible bid for 2036.
The Birmingham CWG is scheduled to be held from July 28 to August 8, while the Asian Games will be hosted by Hangzhou, China from September 10 to 15.
The mega-event is being held from July 23 to August 8 under strict health safety protocols and sans crowds amid the raging pandemic.
Batra said negotiations are still on to ease restrictions on training during quarantine.
Due to the COVID-19 surge in the national capital, the Delhi government had ordered shutting down of all premises that don't fall under the essential category.
Out of the expected 190-member contingent, Narinder Batra said that the IOA estimates 125-135 athletes.
Batra will hold the office until 2024.
Batra, who is also a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), became chief of FIH in 2016.
Batra, who became FIH president in 2016, confirmed his re-election bid in a letter to the FIH Congress dated February 18.
He was honoured with the award at the Capital Foundation Annual Lecture and Awards 2020 which was held online.
With the pandemic making a physical meeting difficult to conduct, Batra had sent letters intimating the formation of the new committees for approval to the EC members to make for the lack of an online voting mechanism.
