Bori Bunder railway station was the first railway station in India, located in Bori Bunder, Mumbai, Maharashtra. On April 16, 1853, the Great Indian Peninsula Railway inaugurated India's first passenger train, which ran from Bori Bunder to Thane, carrying 14 carriages and 400 passengers.
