Hafeez, who has been cleared to bowl again in international cricket again, makes a comeback to the team after last playing in January in New Zealand.
Just two weeks after being cleared to bowl by the ICC for the third time following a remedial bowling action, the PCB had issued a showcase notice to Hafeez to appear before its three-member disciplinary committee to explain his position.
The PCB has issued a notice to allrounder Mohammad Hafeez and asked him to explain his comments about the ICC rules on suspected illegal bowling actions.
On April 17, Hafeez underwent a re-assessment of his Bowling action at the Loughborough University.
The 37-year-old, who is currently facing a suspension from bowling in international cricket for the third time in three years due to illegal bowling action, called on the ICC to make the bowling rules a little accommodating to include the 'Doosra'.
Hafeez, a top order batsman and a handy off-spinner, has been reported for more than once in the past for his suspect bowling action and currently he cannot bowl in ICC events.
Sources said that the PCB had agreed to send Hafeez to England after some reluctance as the all-rounder insisted he could correct his bowling action and take the ICC test again.
The ICC made it clear in a press release that Mohammad Hafeez could not bowl in international cricket until his action was cleared again.
This is the third time that Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has been reported for a suspect bowling action in his international career.
In absence of 36-year old Hafeez, the selectors have called up openers Ahmed Shehzad, Sami Aslam and Shaan Masood for the training camp for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
