Raj, who is the first Indian woman to score a double ton in a Test, has led 'Women in Blue' to two World Cup finals.
It is understood that the BCCI doesn't want a repeat of the kind of bickering witnessed between Powar and star player Mithali following the Indian team's semifinal exit from the ICC Women's World T20 in the West Indies.
After Ramesh Powar's departure, it remains to be seen how T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur and ODI captain Mithali Raj bury their differences.
Even though Powar will be free to apply for the post, there is little chance that he will be retained as his player management skills have come under the scanner due to this incident.
Ramesh Powar questioned Mithali Raj's attitude and said that she plays for individual milestones and not for the team.
Powar said the decision to push her down the order was taken after due consultation with her but still led to a furore.
The 35-year-old Mithali was left out of the World T20 semifinal against England that raised quite a few eyebrows after India's eight-wicket loss.
The seniormost batswoman of the Indian team, in a scathing e-mail to Johri and Karim, alleged that Powar humiliated her during the World T20 in the West Indies.
Mithali Raj was dropped for the semi-final clash against England despite being fit and scoring two back-to-back fifties in the tournament.
It is expected that Johri and Karim will present a detailed report to the CoA which will then assess and, if required, speak to the individuals concerned.
Mithali's omission from the playing eleven against England triggered a controversy and it was intensified after their dreams of winning a maiden ICC title was shattered.
Mithali had two back-to-back fifties against Pakistan and Ireland but was rested for the final league game against Australia due to injury and also didn't feature in India's eight-wicket semi-final loss to England.
Although it was a call made by the team management, retired pacer Jhulan Goswami admits that she 'felt bad' on seeing Mithali benched before the crunch clash against England.
The former captain's manager Annisha Gupta called Harmanpreet a "manipulative, lying, immature, undeserving captain" and further went on to say that the women's team believed in "politics not sport".
Mithali Raj was left out in the last group match against Australia, which India won by 48 runs and on Friday, Harmanpreet Kaur decided to go with the winning combination.
England Women first bundled India Women for a low total of 112 and then chased it down comfortably with the help of Sciver and Jones fifties.

India beat Ireland by 52 runs and qualified for the semi-finals but skipper Harmanpreet Kaur feels that the team needs to improve in certain areas.
After managing 145 for 6 on a slow track, Indian spinners maintained tight leash on Irish women restricting them to 93 for 8 in 20 overs, securing them a spot in the last four of the tournament.
The incident took place on November 11 when India were facing off with arch-rivals Pakistan in the Group B clash of the ICC Women's World T20 in Guyana.
