"Election for the three states will happen in two rounds. Tripura will vote on 18 February, 2018, which is a Sunday. Meghalaya and Nagaland will vote on 27 February which is a Tuesday," said Chief Election Commissioner AK Joti.
The five-year terms of the Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura legislative assemblies is ending on March 6, March 13 and March 14 respectively.
The NCP national general secretary also formally announced the appointment of Saleng A Sangma as the state party president in Meghalaya.
