Maldives President Abdulla Yameen earlier on Monday requested the Parliament to extend the emergency, which was first declared on February 5 for 15 days.
Nirav, who is alleged to have carried out fraudulent transactions worth over Rs 11,400 crore in Punjab National Bank, had left the country on January 1, while his uncle and business partner Mehul Choksi, left on January 4.
Earlier, exiled former Maldivian president Mohamed Nasheed asked India to intervene militarily to resolve the ongoing political crisis in the Maldives.

The statement comes in the wake of a fresh video released by Pakistan in which Jadhav is apparently accusing Indian diplomat of yelling at his mother.
The video, shot from media stands when Jadhav's wife and mother were waiting outside the Pakistani foreign ministry after the meeting, has distinct audio of Pak media shouting insensitive remarks at the Indian nationals.
Most of Jadhav’s remarks were clearly tutored and designed “to perpetuate the false narrative” of his alleged spying in Pakistan, the external affairs ministry said in a no-holds-barred statement against Islamabad’s conduct.
The MEA is collecting is DNA samples of family members of the 39 Indians who went missing in Iraq's Mosul in 2014.
MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar said the Indian missions in Venezuela, the Netherlands, France and the US were in touch with local government officials to provide assistance to the affected Indians.
Counsellor Tariq Karim was summoned to the Ministry of External Affairs during which the incident was condemned in strongest terms.
Opposition parties also accused the government of spoiling relations with the neighbours and felt that India should not be isolated in the process of isolating Pakistan
