The core committee is the BJP's key decision-making body in Goa, comprising senior leaders Parrikar, Union minister Shripad Naik, Lok Sabha MP Narendra Sawaikar and party state chief Vinay Tendulkar, among others.
Parrikar, 62, was flown in a special flight and later taken to his private residence at Dona Paula near here, in an ambulance.

The minister was one of the many cabinet ministers who met Parrikar at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi where the former Defence Minister is being treated for advanced pancreatic cancer.

"During a discussion with the Goa BJP core team, it has been decided that Manohar Parrikar will continue to lead the state government. Soon, there will be a reshuffle of ministers and their portfolios," Shah said.
Parrikar, suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer, has been in and out of hospitals in Goa, Mumbai, New York and now Delhi since February, when his illness was diagnosed.
The Congress legislators, led by Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar, demanded that the governor should summon one-day session of the Assembly for a floor test.
The 14 of the 16 Congress MLAs have backed the letter submitted to the Raj Bhawan today, staking claim at the power in 40-seat assembly.
Refusing to divulge any further information about the meetings, Goa BJP president Vinay Tendulkar said Parrikar is "fine" and that there is no question of leadership change in the state.

Because of his declining health, Parrikar was flown to the national capital. Parrikar, earlier this year, had undergone a three-month-long treatment in the United States.

Parrikar also did not attend the traditional Ganesh Chaturthi puja at his ancestral home in the village of Parra in North Goa, a ritual he has been observing for decades.
Parrikar's relatives arrived in Mumbai this afternoon to meet him before he leaves for USA, a BJP leader said.
