Responding to law and order situation in Gurgaon, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said there has been an increase in cases of offering namaz in open. He was responding to the increase in the number of incidents of disruption during namaz in Gurgaon.
Khattar's remarks come in the wake of alleged disruptions to namaz by right-wing gropus at multiple locations in Gurgaon. However, he asserted the government will ensure that law and order is maintained.
The three accused, held for their alleged roles in leaking the Class XII Economics paper, have denied any link with the CBSE official, suspended for ‘laxity’ in his duty.
After the talks, Malik said the Haryana government has decided to withdraw all cases registered in connection with the violence which broke out during a Jat quota agitation in the state in February 2016.
Khattar was speaking on the second day of the national convention of think-tank Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini whose topic this time is "one nation, one election".
“If such incidents of rape with girls below 12 prove to be true, we will make an act of capital punishment for the accused in this session”, Khattar said.
The shocking incident of the alleged rape of the Dalit girls came close on the heels of another incident last month, in which a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in Haryana's Uklana area in Hisar district.
The meeting between Kejriwal and Khattar was centred around air pollution and stubble burning that is a major contributory factor to smog, which has engulfed the national capital and parts of Haryana and Punjab over the past nearly two weeks.
Kejriwal said Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had called him and told him that the latter was in Delhi till tomorrow, but cannot meet him in Delhi, citing "he (Khattar) was very busy".
Kejriwal last week had sought a meeting with counterparts from Haryana and Punjab to discuss ways to manage the worsening air pollution in Delhi and the neighbouring states.
Arvind Kejriwal, Amarinder Singh, Manohar Khattar and the central government have indulged in a blame game with no party ready to address the root cause of the problem.
It all began when Haryana CM Manohar Khattar caste aspersions on the role of Punjab police in helping Honeypreet evade arrest for 38 days.
Khattar said that the role of Punjab Police in the case is suspicious, which he said will become clear during Honeypreet’s interrogation.
Pradyuman’s father Varun thanked Manohar Lal for ordering a CBI probe.
