Mahua Moitra is a TMC MP from the Krishnanagar constituency. She contested and won the seat in 2019.
The BJP has alleged that Moitra, who didn't have the jurisdiction to enter the centre with personal bodyguards, made the move to influence the counting personnel.

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The development comes after Union Minister BJP president JP Nadda said the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will soon be implemented in West Bengal.

Mahua Moitra spoke at the Lok Sabha with the attitude of a veteran. She raised her hand to silence the Opposition benches when they mouthed inaudible nothings into the air and continually urged the Speaker to maintain order in the House.
