Malaysia's former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said on Thursday that Muslims have a "right to be angry and to kill millions of French people".
Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad tendered his resignation to Malaysia's king Monday while his political party quit the ruling alliance in a shocking political upheaval less than two years after his election victory.
India on Saturday lodged a strong protest with Malaysia over its Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's criticism of the new citizenship law, saying such comments were not in sync with established diplomatic practice of non-interference in any country's internal affairs.
"I am sorry to see that India, which claims to be a secular state now is taking action to deprive some Muslims of their citizenship," the 94-year-old Malaysian PM commented on Friday
Malaysian PM Mahathir said both Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang understood the reasons behind the cancellations and "accepted them."
