"We will retire Sharad Pawar permanently from social and political life after results of assembly elections are out," Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakant Patil said.
He said in an alliance, both parties need to exercise caution and if the speed is accelerated unnecessarily, it could lead to an "accident".
Nomination forms of 798 candidates were rejected during the scrutiny for the October 21 Assembly elections for 288 seats in Maharashtra.
The party had announced names of four candidates on September 30 whereas the complete list has been released today. Among them is veteran tribal leader and seven-term MLA, Jiva Pandu Gavit, who will contest the Kalvan-ST seat in Nashik district.
The list includes party chief Sharad Pawar, party leaders Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, Chagan Bhujbal, Supriya Sule, Jayant Patil and Nawab Malik.

Earlier on Monday, while speaking at a rally in Mumbai, Aaditya Thackeray had confirmed that he will contest upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections.
With this, the party has so far announced the names of 123 candidates, with 51 in the first list and 52 in the second.
Minutes after the BJP announced the names of 125 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly polls, the Shiv Sena released its first list of candidates on Tuesday.
Padalkar, who lost the Lok Sabha polls earlier this year from Sangli on VBA's ticket, is likely to take on senior NCP leader and former state deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar in Baramati Assembly constituency.
Though the exact number of seats MNS will contest is not clear yet, the party sources indicated that it may be around 125 seats.
Both Maharashtra and Haryana are going to polls on October 21. The last day for filing of nomination is October 4.
Talking to PTI, a close aide of Sena chief said, "Aaditya Thackeray's name has been finalised for the Worli assembly segment. Shiv Sena's sitting MLA Sunil Shinde will vacate his place for Aaditya."
The BJP, meanwhile, pointed out that the probe in the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) scam, over which the ED has filed the case, began when a Congress-NCP government was in power.
With this, the number of voters in the constituency has gone up to 3,45,597, including 1,68,089 women, Returning Officer Udaysingh Rajput said.
While the BJP, riding high on the abolition of special status of Jammu and Kashmir granted under Article 370, is going to make the issue its main poll plank, the Opposition Congress-NCP alliance will be raking up the job crisis due to economic slowdown and farmers' issues to corner the government.
There was low voting in the Lok Sabha polls due to holidays and some other factors, but the Assembly elections have been scheduled on October 21, before the Diwali and school/college holidays, Thane Collector Rajesh Narvekar said.
The Aghadi on Tuesday declared candidates for 13 seats in Western Maharashtra, six in Vidarbha, two in Marathwada and one in North Maharashtra.
The poll panel said that the results of the bypolls will be announced on October 24.
