In an embarrassment to the BJP, its MLA from Agar Malwa, Gopal Parmar, said on Saturday that the issue of ‘love jihad’ is a result of the “disease” of 18 years being the minimum legal age for marriage of women.

The screening of the film based on the theme of 'love jihad' was opposed by members of the ABVP and the Left-wing who alleged that the movie spread 'communal venom and bigotry'.
A film screening at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) here on the contentious issue of 'love jihad' was disrupted today by a few students' groups, who alleged that a hate campaign was being propagated in the guise of showing the movie.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud passed the order on the plea filed by Jahan, challenging a Kerala High Court order annulling his marriage with her.
"Marriage and investigation are two different things. As far as marriage is concerned, it does not warrant any investigation. Investigation has nothing to do with it. You can investigate any other thing," the court said.

The protest was staged against the brutal killing in Rajsamand, where Mohammed Afrazul Khan, a Bengali migrant worker in Rajasthan was burnt alive, allegedly for 'love jihad'.
