The Election Commission has released the data of poll-time seizures between March 1 and May 18. It has also stated that the amount will soon cross Rs. 9000 crore mark. The unprecedent seizure is resulted by intelligence-based coordinated action, constant review and ESMS-enabled real time monitoring.
Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1. Results are expected to be announced on June 4.
The local police said that a case has been registered related to the matter and further investigation is underway.
