In a media briefing on June 15, Joint secretary at Ministry of Health and Family Welfares, Lav Agarwal informed that almost 85% decline has been seen in daily cases since the highest reported peak.
As per the information provided by Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary in the Union Health Ministry said, "There are only 7 states that are reporting more than 10,000 cases and 6 states with 5,000-10,000 cases. 6 states are reporting a high number of deaths. These are Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, UP, Punjab and Delhi."
Addressing the media, Lav Agarwal, Union Health Ministry, Joint Secretary said recovery cases have been increasing in the country since May 3 and 187 districts have shown a continued decline in cases since the last 2 weeks.
